Below is a case study for one of my most successful projects to date.

We developed the following branding strategy, website and booking site strategy using our signature Deep Dive Method. Some details have been withdrawn to protect the privacy of the business.

TARGET MARKET SUMMARY:

The target audience consists of men and women from the lower A, upper B, and middle B socioeconomic brackets, primarily residing in Luzon, Philippines, aged 25 and above. Many of them are frustrated with how much time their current make-up routines consume and are dealing with concerns such as uneven or patchy brows, brow loss, dark lips, or uneven lip color. Some are also facing more significant challenges like scars, receding hairlines, hair loss, or conditions such as alopecia, all of which negatively impact their self-esteem.

COMPETITOR ANALYSIS SUMMARY:

Two key competitors in the industry have built strong credibility through their websites, leveraging them as powerful platforms for client engagement. One competitor has gone further by implementing a fully automated booking system, streamlining the client experience. The challenge for our client is to differentiate themselves in a crowded market by highlighting their unique clinical, no-nonsense approach. 

WEBSITE STRATEGY SUMMARY:

The website strategy employs a clean and minimal visual design that reflects the brand’s no-frills, clinical personality while educating potential clients in a straightforward, efficient manner. The goal is to reduce back-and-forth messaging during inquiries by presenting all necessary information upfront. The website’s navigation is intuitive, with solutions pages categorized by each artist, showcasing HD client photos to highlight realistic results and set accurate expectations. A comprehensive FAQ section addresses common concerns immediately. Strong CTAs are strategically placed throughout the site, directing users either to book a consultation or secure an appointment without hesitation.

CONCERN:

The target market is accustomed to handling transactions through social media, which may create some friction when transitioning to a website and automated booking system.

INSIGHT:

Analysis of the target market reveals that, due to their occupations, lifestyles, and behaviors, they possess strong digital literacy and can navigate platforms beyond social media with ease. Despite their current habits, this market shows promising adaptability to digitalization, making them open to new platforms if the transition is seamless.

APPROACH:

To ensure a smooth shift, the website's user experience should be designed with simplicity and ease in mind. Implement intuitive navigation that guides users effortlessly through the booking process, minimizing distractions and unnecessary steps. Incorporate familiar design elements to create a sense of continuity from social media to the website, making the transition feel natural. In addition, offer gentle prompts or tutorials to introduce the booking platform, ensuring clients feel confident using it from the get-go.

CONCERN:

Educating audience through social media posts and chats can be both time-consuming and energy-draining, often requiring more effort than the client wants.

INSIGHT:

While using social media for education is budget-friendly, it demands considerable manpower and time to sustain. Additionally, delays in responding to inquiries can lead to potential sales loss due to gaps in communication.

APPROACH:

Use social media to generate traffic and lead interested audience to the website. Improve the website and booking site's user experience by creating optimized service descriptions and clearly outlining both the booking process and service procedures. Incorporate a detailed FAQ section to address common questions instantly, helping to set clear expectations and reduce the frequency of direct inquiries. Setting of proper expectations will also be strongly implemented through the booking site through pre and post appointment reminders.

CONCERN:

Requiring credit or debit cards for deposits and payments could create friction in the client experience, potentially deterring potential clients and leading to a loss of sales.

INSIGHT:

Although the target market can afford higher-priced solutions, they prefer using bank or e-wallet transfers for deposits and settling the balance through cash, bank, or e-wallet transactions on-site.

APPROACH:

To minimize payment objections, bottlenecks and better align with client preferences, we recommend implementing a semi-automated booking process. Clients can secure their appointments by transferring deposits via bank or e-wallet and sending proof of transaction through Instagram or Facebook Messenger. Once the payment is confirmed, they will receive an email notification with their appointment details and pre-appointment instructions. This approach balances the client's need for a streamlined process with the target market's payment preferences.
